Whilst the much-publicised '5 Run Challenge' requires considerable turning technique allied to raw, explosive pace, this new event for the 2009 season places different demands upon the competitors in that, as a middle distance event, it will need a sound judgement of pace as well as an element of stamina. This last attribute is described in the OED as meaning 'staying power'.

It will not suit everybody. Animals built to blitz for short distances will almost certainly blow up before the finish, whilst the marathon runners amongst us will probably lack the finishing speed to trouble the very best.

As with most things at the club, the rules are ever so simple! The 'Boundary Stakes' epitomises the Coe/Ovett era of Britsh athletics and is sure to gerenate considerable interest over the summer months. Players may enter as many times as they like to try become club champion.

The race distance is 437 metres as determined by Tom Pike with his natty GPS device.
