PIKE NO LONGER A 'STUPID BOY'? [06/10/07 06:22:31]

Having sponged off the state for a considerable period, 'career student' Tom Pike (seen above right) recently took to the bright lights of the steamy metropolis to earn his crust and has been seen as part of the early morning commuter set in his striking pinstripes.

Part of his induction involved him taking a fish into the office to add to the company aquarium. He thought about his task carefully and, anxious to impress, journeyed to Tesco after work to see what was around.

It is rumoured that his first two attempts, a packet of MacRae kipper fillets and a tin of John West pink salmon were rejected by his horrified newfound colleagues.

However, our man persevered and, on the third, day proudly presented a guppy (below right) which, we understand is still flourishing in the warmed waters of his St Paul's office.

His ADCC teammates feel that he may have made a more lasting impression if he had taken in a piranha or a Siamese fighting fish. We might have seen some real action then, but possibly not a great career move!
