Career HS:  53 v Wormingford last month and Rudlin bollocked me when I came off and spoilt the occasion!

Career BB:  3-0 in a late friendly for ther thirds last year

Cricketing achievements:  See career HS and winning young player of the year at Moulton Harrox in about 1990. I have also run a three with both Woodrow brothers!

Best non-professional played with:  My old school captain Matt Smith. Consistently good batsman, bowler and fielder.

Biggest cricketing influence:  The BBC, as they broadcast a program about the Bodyline tour which inspired me to play cricket, along with the Ashes series that year.

Least favourite local ground:  The village just past West Bergholt's tennis court

Most memorable sporting moment:  Watching Graham Gooch get his 333.

Advice for young players:  Stop talking so much.....but have fun playing, and back up at the non striker's end.

Favourite food:  A nice steak (and chips); generally anything that had four legs and has recently come out of an oven.

Favourite drink:  Red wine and real ale.

Biggest fear in life:  Cockroaches and other large indestructable insects.

Newspaper read:  The Guardian - my grandad covered the first moon landings for them.
