Previous clubs:  Elmstead (one game only and then a six figure transfer fee as a teenager)

Abberton debut:  v Sudbury, 1990

Career HS:  113 v East Bergholt (in a 175 run partnership with Dave Tingley who had Barry Rudlin as a runner for most of the time!)

Career BB:  6-21 v Great Bentley (3rd XI BB peformance for ten years until beaten by just one run!)

Cricketing achievements:  Winning Colts league in first season, winning PDQ Div 1 title, surviving first cricket tour to Somerset with Swinny, Alan Sherwood, John Jones, Barry Tingley, Chates & Co.

Best non-professional played with:  Got to be Simon Swinn; it was a pleasure to play in the same team and under his captaincy

Biggest cricketing influence:  The legendary John Ward; he would always give the young ones a chance, offer them his advice and buy them drinks!

Favourite local ground:  Castle Park (when the stands and advertising boards remain after Eseex week)

Least favourite local ground:Great Bentley, Great Horkesley, Boxted

Favourite Abberton player:  Barry Rudlin

Three sporting legends:  Bobby Moore, Viv Richards and Sir Ian Botham

Most memorable sporting moment:  Going to Euro 2000 in Belgium, especially being in town when we beat Germany

One piece of advice to young players:  Serve your apprenticeship and always be ready to take your opportunity when given the chance

Biggest fear in life:  Not being with my girls (inlcuding Dione!)
